Mixed Media is Hamilton's corner shop of art, creativity and design. Our century-old storefront is stocked with art and printmaking supplies, specialty papers and stationery products. We also feature an amazing selection of handmade goods, gifts, cards, books, magazines and locally-made art.

James North Art Crawl

"Galleries and a little grit around the edges define the vibrant James Street North arts district. For the James North Art Crawl, a festive event on the second friday night of every month, galleries keep their doors open until around 11 p.m., so visitors can explore and chat. Here, you'll find a stimulating range of exhibits in a variety of settings, including a former tailor's shop (Hamilton Artists Inc.) and The Print Studio, which draws working artists from around the world. Check out Mixed Media, an art-supply store and incubator for many of the area's bright ideas."

In the gallery: Hamilton Strip by Paul Elia

Hamilton Strip depicts distinct and interesting Hamilton cityscapes. Entire city blocks (or strips) are recreated in heavy tones of black, white and gray. Focusing on downtown and central Hamilton neighbourhoods, Paul Elia's drawings are meant to highlight the surreal contrast between the imposing industrial shells from a manufacturing history vs. the residential development around it. We are now carrying a number of framed prints in-store and can also have custom sizes printed to suit your space.
